I Remember the Barley Sea
A Poem

I remember the Barley sea As I gazed to the far reaching shore Lined by oak trees and hedgerow Pines standing tall amid the wood floor I remember the Barley sea Cloaked in the mist of hazy Spring rain Seagulls swooping for supper atop rippling waves Which spat no spume or spray I remember the barley sea Deepest green beneath ink clouded sky From my window launching many a boat To sail to the wood for a while I remember the barley sea Haven from the gun for pheasant and crow Windswept ripples of green glossy fronds Long loved horizon eerily gone ©️ Hope found in M.E. 2023

Thank you, Jasper. That’s so good to know. That’s quite a skill pinpointing the place. I love the image.
