Behind Every Door – Haiku

Our home search continues. It’s quite strange going from bed rest to home viewing straight back to bed rest again. I probably look fairly normal while I’m there. With outside clothes, shoes (my virtually vintage Vans date back to circa 2008) and some makeup on. Aka: a bit of Blusher! Whilst on our return I crawl back into pjs and back to bed.

Under The Duvet

I hope we find THE place soon. As I am exhausted (on top of MEcfs fatigue) and admit to a complete meltdown yesterday when our dearly loved sighthound walked dog poop through what felt like the entire house! She NEVER does that. Why when I’m hungry, or should I say consequently ‘hangry‘!

A Woman Screaming Open Mouthed

I think our neighbours probably noticed the door slamming, as in general we’re very quiet. Doggo was put in the garden (with garden bed to relax on) whilst the clean up commenced.

I’m not proud of losing my $#!£, but the vent was certainly a needed safety valve release. And a reminder to rest even more. Is that even possible? PEM is the absolute pits.

A Fawn And White Dog Sleeping

Vent aside, and this may sound obvious, but there are so many stories behind each and every door. Challenging, sad and life changing. Some relatable, some not so. We don’t become aware of them all. But you really see the lives. Although rarely meeting the owners, as in the main agents take the viewings. You find yourself rooting for people, who’s home you may not even wish for. And when their breakthrough comes you’re happy for them. I’m not entirely sure I would have been quite so aware pre-chronic illness.

People On Jeep In The Jungle

So here is a Haiku in honour of all these peoples thresholds we cross. And to all folk moving home, I wish you peace and success.

The Haiku

Behind every door
A story silently tells
Of a life changed

  1. Oh yes, behind every door – a story, sometimes a lifetime. Today I pray for all those who have that “For Sale” sign out. And I pray for all the seekers that they may find the place God intends for them.
