An Apology
Dear Readers
I would like to express my sincere apologies if the song link ‘The Sun Has Got His Hat On‘ I had originally attached in my blog post Woop! It’s the Sunshine Blogger Award… has caused any reader offence.
I did not realise that there was a certain very offensive word included in the lyrics, which should never be used in any context, until having listened to the song again yesterday. I was horrified. It is never my intention to cause offence to any one.
I would also like to confirm that my comments below the song link did not in any way refer to the offensive word. As I was not aware that it was part of the song at the time of publishing the blog post. The song link and paragraph referencing the melody have now been removed from the blog site.
I have not received any complaints from any reader or platform. But felt it only right to publish a formal apology.
My apologies once again if inclusion of the song has caused any of my readers offense.

Bless you Penny. I didn’t listen to it. I know of parts of the song but not the whole as my mum in law use to sing it.

I’m a little late catching up on blogging (what’s new!) so I haven’t caught the other post yet and thus didn’t see the link. Was it just the original song, The Sun Has Got His Hat On? I don’t know of any offensive lyrics in that either. I think you’ve been incredibly sincere in such an open apology, though I’m pretty sure we all here as your readers know you wouldn’t mean any offence nor publish anything knowing it could cause any upset for anyone. ♥

And oh my goodness I’ve just googled the lyrics… yikes! You only ever really hear the first bit about the sun having his hat on hip hip hooray, so I had no idea what came after that. It seems very odd, and puts a different light on the song now.. I’m pretty sure the majority of people don’t know of the full lyrics either, Penny! xx

I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard it! And the Youtube link had omitted the verse that included ‘the word’. It certainly does put a different light on the song. I shall be more careful with song details in future. Xxx
