Friday Flower of the Day – Clivia

Today another first. I am participating in Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge.

The Clivia Miniata from the Amaryllidaceae family (I’m thinking Amaryllis). Also known as the Bush Lily or Natal Lily. My husband, the superstar that he is, bought this as he likes structural houseplants. I was skeptical, but to be amazed. In its natural setting it obviously wouldn’t be houseplant. Must be amazing to see them flowering outdoors.

Since I moved its location from a shady corner in the dining room, it didn’t look very happy, to great visitors in the hall. It has come alive. With a careful watering routine. Much to my delight it has happily flowered for a second time this year. I didn’t realise that it would. I had unknowingly put it exactly where it will flourish. And am so glad. It really is stunning. The only detail I am not sure about is if it prefers to be a bit pot bound. Some research required.

As I couldn’t get downstairs to see the second set of blooms. My husband pinged some images up to me. I wasn’t disappointed.

Have a blessed day

    1. Thanks so much, Xenia.🧡🌼Tia currently curled up after a treat & looking forward to her lovely walker taking her out later. Temperature seems to be cooling, which is good news for walkies green light. Gentle hugs to you & Misty.💕🐾🐕🐾xxx
